Taking Material off Reserve

A few days before the end of the quarter Noreen will prepare printouts of expired reserve course records. The expectation is that the deprocessing will be completed during the first two weeks of the quarter.

1. Access the reserve module in Millennium.

2. Select the course you wish to work with.

3. Unlink all items on the list that you are able to find.

4. There will not be a physical item to take off the shelf if the item is a reference book or a link to an electronic reserve page.

5. Do not unlink materials that are on reserve at another library location. (For example - aures, or arres)

6. If you unlink an item that is linked to another course record for the next quarter or for the current quarter, you will get a message calling your attention to this, and asking if you want to proceed. If the item is linked to a course for the next quarter you should only unlink the item from the expiring course. Leave the item stickered and on reserve.

7. Place searches on the items that you are not able to find. To place a search you place a hold on the item with the AUP card 'AUP missing items' internal card. Place a hold AND change the status to missing. Unlink the item from the course. When you have unlinked all materials you will get a message saying 'There are no items attached to this course, do you want to delete it?' The answer should be yes.

8. Take stickers off all material. Check in all items.

9. Put AUP owned material on the trucks to be shelved. Put books from other branches on the outgoing mail table with transit slips.

10. Personal copies should be left on Noreen's desk with a note indicating the course and professor name.

11.Printout should be returned to Noreen with a note indicating that the list is finished. Missing items should be noted.
