ENVIR 492: Post-Capstone Seminar

This seminar asks you to analyze and build on the fieldwork that you did during ENVIR 491. Furthermore, your Capstone Experience can be a sort of bridge between your education and your next steps, and this seminar will therefore help you prepare for those next steps--either in the job market or in graduate school.

The Post-Capstone Seminar is designed to help you both build skills and acquire knowledge. By the end of this course, you will have:
1) Analyzed how your Capstone Experience relates to major environmental issues and to your college education.
2) Strengthened your ability to convey information orally and visually. Preparing a presentation for our conference at the end of the quarter will help you build these skills. In addition, you will practice discussing your capstone and your Environmental Studies education with a variety of audiences, including potential employers.
3) Honed your writing skills. Indeed, this course is designed to help you create an essay that you could use as a writing sample for graduate school applications and for potential employers.
4) Explored some of your future career or graduate study possibilities, as well as the steps necessary to realize those possibilities.
