Medical Student Research Training Program (MSRTP)

University of Washington School of Medicine

The Medical Student Research Training Program (MSRTP) provides approximately 30 funded opportunities for students at the School of Medicine and WWAMI sites to participate in a full-time, 10-week summer research project between their first and second years under the supervision of a full-time UW faculty mentor. Projects should be hypothesis-driven and may fall into one of the following categories: laboratory based research, clinical and health services, and MSRTP/RUOP or international health. The student stipend for Summer 2006 is $3,500. The deadline for receipt of applications for the Summer 2006 program is Friday, January 27, 2006. Project awards will be announced by Friday, March 3. Students can connect with a mentor by 1) choosing from the list of faculty-proposed projects that will be posted online on November 16, 2005, or 2) seeking a mentor and project independently. Feel free to contact Mary Lambeth for ideas.
