Debla and Kurt Geissel-
No Control. This playful and annoying
istallation at the Two Bells Tavern comprises a series of pink and blue
dimestore birdcages hanging form the ceiling directly above the tavernss
eight tables. The two cages Titled Baby Crow at the front of the
tavern are filled with two large opaque fiberglas eggs with little
eletrical motors insid their shells that emit caws while jerking and
rattling around like newborn crows clamoring to break out of their cages.
Six cages titled TV Eggs, hanging along the left wall, are filled
with six large pink and blue eggs with small squares cut into their shells
fitted with miniatrue TV nonitors hooked up to the bars VCR playing an
endless loop of bird videos. You cant really see or hear much through all
the commotion, thats the point, those embedded monitors are just another
layer of media obfuscation in our alread oversaturated and confused world
