The Bdump Utility takes care maintaining a set of backup dump images
for each native filesystem for a given fileserver. Someday this page
may even describe it somewhat.
There's an ancient document describing it
around here someplace, but that document predates kdump.
The name bdump comes from the fact that it is the second version of the adump utility. The name adump stood for "Automated Dump".
