Assignment 4

Due Monday 4/10/06

1)        Let l be a vertical line.  Using your compass and straight edge, reflect a parallelogram with no right angles, using l as the reflecting line.  Assume the parallelogram is on the left side of the line l.   Be sure to do it one step at a time, so that it is clear what the order of your construction is.  Color pencils might help.  (Hint , reflect each of the four corners and then connect them)

2) An isosceles triangle is a triangle with two sides equal.  The third unequal side is called the base.  Let the base be given by the line segment below, labeled b.  Using your compass and straight edge construct an isosceles triangle with base length b and equal sides of length 2b.  Be sure to do it one step at a time explaining what you are doing, so that it is clear what the order of your construction is.  Color pencils might help.
