Also from the New York Times news pages, a debate among two groups of endocrinologists about earlier onset of puberty, was described.

One group says it is abnormal and rare, and should be treated with hormones to stop it. The others saying it is getting more common, naturally changing, and girls need support from families, friends and doctors to deal with it, not hormones.
