Student Researcher. Worked with Dr. Leo Buss and Dr. Stephen Dellaporta on a project to characterize the allorecognition gene in a marine hydroid. Developed a PCR-based screening protocol for recombinant animals and discovered a unique insertion-deletion sequence, 2001-02

Lab Volunteer. Worked with Dr. Tod Reeder in a molecular phylogeny lab. Amplified and sequenced DNA fragments in a species of whiptail lizard to produce phylograms, Summer 2001
