I grew up in San Diego, CA, and basked in the sunshine until I moved to the east coast for college. After four years of fun yet intense study, I traveled to Japan to investigate the food culture of tuna sashimi in Japan. As with any proper research, my project included plenty of sampling. ^_~

Now I'm in Seattle, studying fish at the University of Washington. It's been a fantastic experience so far, and I'm hoping to stay for a PhD.
