Closing Comments on Technoliteracy
Technoculture studies asks us to re-think the apparent divide between technology and culture. As practitioners of technoculture studies, we understand technology as culturally embedded and the vice versa.
Consequently, this understanding entails a more robust approach to researching both technology and culture, as well as a new set of research practices, which might:
- Involve more collaboration in the humanities,
- Alter how work is published, archived, and circulated (e.g., online journals and blogs),
- Refigure how the humanities engages fields outside of the academy,
- Attend more to how people actually perceive and use media, and
- Change modes of instruction and learning.
