Podcast 3: A Critical Incident [ Submit Sound File Now!
]
Due: Tuesday, February 26th (length: two to three minutes)
By the time you circulate your third podcast to the class, you should have attended your service-learning orientation and conducted at least seven to ten of your required service-learning hours.
For this podcast, please focus on one particular incident from your service-learning that—for whatever reason—elicits your strong response.
As with the first and second, this podcast should also be two to three minutes in length. And again, you can either write a script for your cast or speak through improvisation. Choose whatever makes you the most comfortable.
In the podcast, please:
- Identify and describe the incident, including the who, what, when, where, and why.
- Describe your role in the incident.
- Analyze the incident, with an emphasis on listening to and speaking for others. What was your understanding of the incident at the time? What is your understanding now?
- Include how you plan to respond to this incident.
- Finally, given this incident, talk about what you have learned about your own service-learning practices.
As you podcast, please recall our discussions about confidentiality. Your podcast should include neither proper names nor identifying information. Consider the use of pseudonyms.
When you are finished with your podcast, please upload it to the course drop box
or e-mail it to english3000@gmail.com
by Tuesday, February 26th.
(Of note, if you are having any difficulties with voice recording, then just let me know. I don’t want you to become preoccupied with the technologies. The focus here is on your compositions. I’ll take care of the technical stuff, if need be.)
I’m looking forward to listening to your podcast!
