Podcast 2: Starting Service-Learning [ Submit Sound File Now! ]
Due: Thursday, February 21st (length: two to three minutes)
By the time you circulate your second podcast to the class, you should have attended your service-learning orientation and participated in some post-orientation volunteer work at a local Boys and Girls Club.
As with the first, this podcast should also be two to three minutes in length. And again, you can either write a script for your cast or speak through improvisation. Choose whatever makes you the most comfortable.
Your second podcast should be about your impressions of your service-learning site (i.e., your local Boys and Girls Club). In your podcast, please address the following:
- What is the mood of the site? What does it sound like?
- How does your work at the site intersect with both your first first blog post and podcast on service-learning? With the keyword collaboratories and texts on service?
- At this juncture, what questions do you have? What are you excited about? Anxious about? Frustrated with?
As you podcast, please recall our discussions about confidentiality. Your podcast should include neither proper names nor identifying information. Consider the use of pseudonyms.
When you are finished with your podcast, please upload it to the course drop box or e-mail it to english3000@gmail.com by Thursday, February 21st.
(Of note, if you are having any difficulties with voice recording, then just let me know. I don’t want you to become preoccupied with the technologies. The focus here is on your compositions. I’ll take care of the technical stuff, if need be.)
