BINGO NIGHT AT THE
HEARTHSTONE
During spring quarter LKS members helped organize a
bingo night at the Hearthstone. We baked cookies, brownies, and rainbow chip
cake and brought these goodies to share with the residents. We also made
prizes to give out to the winners. It was a great night!
LKS members hanging out with Tootsie, Lucille, and Hearthstone's lovely
volunteer coordinator, Donna.

VALENTINE'S
DAY-CHOCOLATE PRETZEL
SALE
For Valentine's Day, LKS sold chocolate covered
pretzels as a fundraiser. This project was spearheaded by our culinary
extraordinaire co-president, Karen! We gathered at Nicole and Michelle's
apartment where Karen taught us all how to make chocolate covered pretzels.
It was quite a success!
HALLOWEEN-TRICK
OR TREAT FOR CANNED
FOOD!
A few days before Halloween, LKS members went
trick-or-treating for canned food. This was donated to Northwest Harvest,
Washington's only hunger relief agency. To learn more about Northwest

MEETING COMING UP
Wednesday, October 4th, 12:30, room HST T-474.
Come learn more about LKS, how to become a member, hear about current
projects, and help brainstorm activities for the coming school year. Snacks
will be provided. Yum! If you cannot make the meeting, do not worry, notes
from the meeting will be posted in this section.
AUG 24TH-THE
BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR AT THE
NORTHSHORE FAMILY RESOURCE
CENTER
WAS A SUCCESS!
The Back-to-School Fair at the Northshore Family Resource Center was a
true community event. The fair offered resources for families about after
school programs, drug abuse awareness, and health and nutrition. In addition
to this, the center offered free haircuts for the children going back to
school, a clothing exchange, fun activities, musical entertainment, and a
barbeque. Overall, it was a great event to be a part of!

AUG 23RD-VOLUNTEER
EVENT AT THE NORTHSHORE
FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER
On Wednesday, August 23rd, from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm LKS will have a
volunteer event at the Northshore Family Resource Center. With Labor Day
just around the corner, it will be a fun back-to-school event for the
