Methoni will be the site for the NOA high-resolution, polarimetric X-band radar. It will be located on a backroad on the ridge above the town. From this location, near the weather station, the radar will have a clear view to the ARG mooring location in the Ionian Sea to the west, and an equally clear view towards the DRG network at Finikounda to the east.
