We will be installing RHEL 5.3 (i386, client) from a DVD image. Download the DVD ISO image file and either burn it to a DVD disc or boot directly from the ISO file.

Upon booting, the DVD will present you with a console menu showing the install menu item. Select this item and proceed as prompted, choosing the defaults in most cases. You will be prompted for a keyboard layout, hostname, timezone, and root password. You will also be given the opportunity to install additional software such as the KDE™ desktop. Reboot when the installation has been completed.
