OK, I'm a Star Trek fan. I follow all the Trek show, with a particular emphasis on Deep Space 9, IMAO, the closest analog to modern SF that the franchise has put out.
I also follow the myriad discussions on Trek on Usenet, tossing out bon mots and sarcastic comments on rec.arts.startrek.current and rec.arts.startrek.misc. I manage to piss off more than my share of folks on the two newsgroups.
Being a male Trek fan, I, of course, have to have the hots for at least one of the female Trek characters. In my case, that's Major Kira. That is, I have the hots for Nana Visitor, who plays Major Kira, and is an accomplished tap dancer and musical actor (gawd, anyone who loves Gershwin can't be all bad!).
Oh, yes...as an ultimate in Trek fan-ness, I actually am a Star Trek character. Don't believe me? Read The Siege, page 74-75 or Imzadi, Chapters 17 onward, both by Peter David. In the latter, I even get to knock down a shuttlecraft in flight with a Mark X phaser cannon. For th' good of the service, sir.....
By the way, given my interest in theatre, I also want to point you to Asian actors in Trek, which is put together by Jeff Koga. Still in early stages, but it's interesting.
