Rock Lake Ski - 4/8/00

A hot sunny spring day isn't when you'd expect to find deep fluffy powder, but that's just what happened.

Booting up to attain the ridge.

Nathan on top.

Many little trees.

The much anticipated debut of Phil's avalanche rope.  It's basically a compromise on the tendency to not dig Rutschblock pits on big pow days.

Matt skiing down the north facing slope we'd found above Rock Lake.  There was deep powder here, could it have been wind deposited?

More Matt.

Phil skiing.  The slope is beginning to show our trademark signature.

Rock Lake on the way out.  We got cliffed out lower down and had to backtrack to find a way around them.

How Phil's butt got sunburned.  He chose to ignore several warnings on the subject.  I think there's potential here for a hybrid between rednecks and people whose buttcracks stick out of their jeans when they bend over.
