Mystery Ski  -  4 / 15 / 01

Regular's to Greg's webpage will notice that there haven't been a lot new trip reports posted lately.  Rest assured, I have still been getting out there just about every weekend.  A couple things have contributed to the lack of trip reports.  One, I have been taking the BOEALPS intermediate climbing class and I've been focusing on learning things instead of taking pictures.  Two, the weather in Seattle has been really nice just about every day so I'm less likely to use my spare time to sit inside and scan photos and write reports.

I do have a report from a recent weekend of backcountry skiing.  As I have done previously, I will be keeping the location of some pristine slopes a secret for all but those with a keen eye.  No hints this time (yes, we did have some folks getting dangerously close in their guesses about a previous Mystery Ski).

The bears are evidently out of hibernation.

The goodies.  Note the 10 o'clock gully contecting the upper and lower snowfields.

We dug a Rutshblock right about here and the results were less than stellar.  Those couliors up there looked sweet but but given the snow stability we decided against it.  Some other time for sure.

Ed being chased by some highly organized wolf-feral dog hybrids that happen to shop at REI.

We had some sweet turns.

A relatively "non-dorky" picture of Phil.  Except for the "not even retro" sunglasses.
