Phil finally got his newly purchased used snowmobile fixed and tugged Matt, Dave and myself 10 miles down an unplowed road to access some backcountry slopes in the Stuart area (thanks Phil). Getting tugged behind the 'bile presented it's own challenges as the towed skiers collided and got their tow ropes tangled. Our destination was Ingalls Pass, beyond which we hoped to find some phat north facing powder.
Note Phil's custom made bumper sticker.
Climbing up to Ingalls Pass on a trail from other 'bilers. Phil's
modest beast didn't have the oomph to pull three skiers up the side of
a mountain.
Mt Stuart
Looking back towards Cle Elum.
Matt getting some air.
Climbing back up to the pass. Ingalls Peak, a classic easy climb
in the summer, is in the background. The standard route covers the
left skyline.
'Biler Phil's just sucked a beer down so fast the can imploded.
The ear cups enable him to create a sufficiently powerful vacuum.
This photo is unrelated to the trip and just here to chronicle my epic
bike ride to work the day it snowed 4 inches.
