Swimming in Ross Lake - 7/29/00

If you've got some nice weather there's nothing better than spending five hours driving to the north end of Ross Lake in Canada for a quick dip and then driving back to Seattle.

The north peak of Mt. Hozomeen towers above.

A deforested swath, thick with shrubbery, seperates the United States and Canada.  It can be seen extending into the distance on the other side of Ross Lake.

The "obelisk" on the US-Canadian border.

Some kid diving into the lake.

Jesse with the back-flip.

NOTE:  To really appreciate a dip in Ross Lake, one should first embark on a planned two-day climb of the north peak of Hozomeen, then give up after about 1 & 1/2 hours of hiking because an insane level of biting insects coupled with horrendous bushwacking.
