The plan here was to check out the lower portions of a route up the south face of Mt. Garfield.  To make a long story short, we left the guidebook in the car and went up the wrong route.  It was still nice to be outside.

We basically followed this stream up a ways.  Eventually we came to a section filled in with undercut snow.  The actual route crosses the stream here but we went straight...
