XSL transformation of XML metadata files

3/31/2003, Emilio Mayorga

Clicking on a link below will take an XML metadata file for a GIS coverage called "sitesall" and apply the chosen XSL stylesheet dynamically, on the fly. For example, clicking on "FGDC" will apply ESRI's FGDC stylesheet on the raw XML file; clicking on "ISO Geography Network" will apply that stylesheet instead, but using the same raw XML file.

These examples will work well only with Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher; they won't work at all with browsers other than Internet Explorer, such as Mozilla. The stylesheets were created by ESRI to work best with XML metadata files generated by ArcCatalog. But the XML file in this example was generated independently of ArcCatalog, so a few features of the stylesheets don't work as originally intended.

Select a metadata stylesheet for the GIS coverage sitesall:
FGDC Classic -- FGDC FAQ -- FGDC ESRI -- FGDC Geography Network -- FGDC -- ISO -- ISO Geography Network

More information about ESRI's metadata stylesheets can be found at http://www.esri.com/metadata/.
