Checklist of reminders for your career portfolio

Before you take your career portfolio to the job interview, here are some questions to ask yourself.

[I plan to answer the question, or at least bring up the decision points, in a "short reminder" that follows the question, and then link back to the part of the course that discusses that question. For example...)

1. Do you have an appropriate binder or portfolio cover on your career portfolio?

Short reminder: Plastic-covered three-ring notebooks may be appropriate for many jobs, but if you expect to work at executive levels, it should be high quality, possibly leather. (For more information, see link to Decide what kind of career portfolio you want section)

2. Are there between 8 and 12 pages in your career portfolio?

Short reminder. You'll want to have matched the primary skills listed in the job description with your skills, and to have developed a career portfolio page for the most important ones, which represents your abilies to do that job. If your career portfolio (for this interview) has more than 12 or fewer than 8 pages, what justifies having more or fewer pages? (For more information, see the Organize your career portfolio section.)

ETC

3. What kind of portfolio are you making?

If paper, how many pages? (Original vs copy)

If electronic, what format? What interview situation
