Internship Resources Online
Internships may have many forms and infinite variation, and we have simply listed as many potential sites as possible, without trying to duplicate all listings that can be found in many other resource lists.
Very few fit comfortably into single categories, even as sub-fields of geography, so we have tried to avoid creating overlapping categories.
GEOGRAPHY-RELATED ORGANIZATIONS
GITA (Geospatial and
Technology Association)
A two-part internship program is described. One is a competitive stipend
program and the other is an internship clearinghouse. The internships are primarily
for summer and are offered by participating GITA corporate sponsors, contributors,
small business affiliates, user affiliates and other qualified AM/FM/GIS companies.

The title here reflects a slight difference in emphasis in these linking sites.
Traditionally, "summer jobs" have implied simple to menial labor.

some contexts. Even when what you want is clearly an internship, don't neglect
searching through listings for "summer" or "seasonal," even
"part-time" jobs, because you may be able to adapt them to your own
purposes within geography.
