Many childhood memories are related to my parents
research efforts related to Adolph F. Bandelier, a Swiss born Ethnographer
who worked in the Southwestern US in the late 1800s. The Bandelier National
Monument near Los Alamos, NM was the setting for Bandelier's “Delight Makers”
story and a place I spent parts of several summers climbing the cliff trails
and playing in the Rito de los Frijoles and listening to Mrs. Frey's stories
of her family's pioneering ranch in the bottom of Frijoles canyon. Several
sources on the Web contain useful information of this area including
GORP
and the
National Park Service.

Climbing is currently one of my fun activities,
including summits of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Hood, Mt. Baker, Mt. Adams, Mt. St.
Helen's and several other Cascade peaks. On my list of future climbs are
2 of the American continent's major peaks:
Mt.
McKinley,
Denali National Park
(
weather)
and
Aconcagua,
Argentina.
You can normally find me at Seattle area concerts
of the Austin Lounge
Lizards (official site),
Tish
Hinojosa, and James Keelaghan.
I'll never forgive CBS for canceling the Northern
Exposure show.
One of my brothers, Richard,
works in Arizona and spends most summers at the Homolovi
State Park with the Earthwatch
program. The other brother Fred
lives in Nicaragua..
