I submitted my first conference proposal today! The conference is ACM's SIGUCCS Fall conference in Portland this October. ACM is the Association for Computing Machinery, and SIGUCCS is the Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services. (It's kind of a mouthful, I know.) My proposal is titled "PGP Whole Disk Encryption: Blazing Trails in IT Security at UW Medicine". I should find out if it was accepted within the next couple of weeks.

I managed to wait before breaking down and buying a MacBook Air. Pretty good, for me.
UW Technology provides instructions for configuring Entourage 2004 to use the UW Exchange server. These instructions work for Entourage 2008 as well, but for both versions of Entourage the Global Address List (GAL) doesn't appear. Since this is a useful tool to have configured, I set about trying to get GAL to work.

It's the end of Winter quarter at the iSchool, which can only mean one thing: drama. You'd think a library school* could keep out of trouble, but that's just impossible for our #4 ranked school in the nation. This penultimate quarter of the year brings not one, but two scandals to rile up the LIS cohorts: the 560 fiasco and student body elections.
