Using X-win32 to display Linux programs on Windows

  1. From a UW1-320-320 lab computer, start X-Win32


     
  2. a small X should appear in your task bar.


     

  3. Right click the X and select Sessions: Linux Lab xterm


     

  4. Enter your uwnetid and password


      
  5. Click yes to the security alert.


     

  6. an xterm window should appear


     

  7. Now you may start other X graphics programs, such as Matlab, by typing the name of the program in the Xterm window..
  8. Be sure to exit cleanly from applications, as they may be left running on a remote machine.
