About Me
I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Washington, Seattle. My research interests lie in two main areas: the politics of transparency and freedom of information, and the effects of globalization on the environmental and social responsibility of firms. My dissertation examines the global spread of Freedom of Information laws across the world, with particular attention to variation in their passage, design, and enforcement, as well as their effects on different political and economic outcomes. I am also writing a series of papers with Professor Aseem Prakash on the diffusion and efficacy of voluntary environmental and social responsibility programs such as ISO 14001 and the United Nations Global Compact.
