You are correct about the conflicting DLLs. To correct this, follow these steps:

  1. Look for WINCOM.DLL and WRKBENCH.DLL in your Windows System directory.
  2. Rename the files to temporary names (WINCOM.TMP WRKBENCH.TMP) and make sure that additional copies are not located in any directories on your PATH.
  3. Restart Windows and launch the Asymetrix versions of BitEdit and PalEdit. They should now launch correctly.
  4. Restore the names of the 2 DLLs.
