Metal was scarce during the war years so in 1943 a window decal was issues to be used in conjunction with a 1942 plate. This practice continued for the years 1944, (some plates were issued but are very rare) 1946, 1948, and 1952. Beginning in1951 metal tabs were attached to the plate instead of the window.
