4.3.2008 The course website is currently under construction, updating from its Summer 2006 version to the upcoming Summer 2008 version. Those visitors interested in taking PHIL 102 in B term at the UW during Summer Qtr 2008 are welcome to poke around the website. But visitors prior to July 2008 should be aware that changes between now & then are likely. 6.26.2008 Course syllabus and schedule are now available, along with many of the course readings. Students for PHIL 102b for Summer 2008 at the UW, feel free to poke around! 7.24.2008 The course syllabus and schedule have been updated, and are now available here (under "Syllabus, etc.") with the course bibliography as well as some notes on argumentation, on writing philosophy, and on what ethics is not. Enjoy! 7.24.2008 All course readings should now be available online, grouped together by week. 7.25.2008 Those who missed class today can get the required Arguments Worksheet (due Monday the 28th) here, recently posted here on the mainpage and also under the W0 link, as well as in-class handouts on theories of morality, areas of ethics, and moral truth & relativism (all available under the W0 link). 8.1.2008 Those who missed class today can get Assessment #1 (Medical Ethics), due in class on Monday the 4th, recently posted here on the mainpage and also under the W1 link. 8.8.2008 Assessment #2 (on ethics and the family) was available toay in class and is now available here on the course website (on the mainpage and also under the W2 link). 8.15.2008 Assessment #3 (on research ethics) is now available. 8.21.2008 Assessment #4 (war and peace) is now available. Those taking it as a "takehome" must submit the assessment either in class (in Condon 139) or electronically by 1pm Friday 8.22.2008. Those submitting electronically are responsible for my successful reception of the document. Those taking it "in class" can also using their notes and texts, and write by hand, 10:50-1 in Condon 139 on Friday 8.22.2008. |
